As part of the Accelere’Health cross-border program, four innovative Swiss project leaders will travel to Lyon, in neighbouring France, from June 20 to 24 for a unique immersion program. This final expedition follows the first two expeditions that took place last fall and spring, in Sion, Switzerland and Besançon, France. The Valais and Besançon ecosystems had the opportunity to welcome innovative project leaders to help them discover the wealth of innovation in healthcare in both territories. It is now time for Lyon to close the ball and welcome promising projects from French-speaking Switzerland.
Accelere’Health, a real innovation booster
Accelere’Health brings together two countries and three partner ecosystems: Sion, Lyon and Besançon. This program was set up to develop interconnections between the health innovation basins, to stimulate the development of up-and-coming projects, to benefit from the best expertise, to materialize market opportunities and to enhance the entrepreneurial activities of both countries, Switzerland and France.
For this final call for projects, the Accelere’Health organizing teams have selected four Swiss projects from Valais and Geneva to discover the richness and innovation of Lyon’s healthcare ecosystem.
Innovation in the service of health
The health sector is very dynamic in Switzerland and offers a fertile ground for innovation. Among the new talents that have emerged in this fertile field, some have naturally been selected for this latest batch leaving for Lyon. Four health-related projects stood out:
- Among these winners, we find CALYPS Saniia. The artificial intelligence CALYPS Saniia reduces the coordination time between emergency physicians and care units, facilitates resource planning, simplifies the management of patient flows, improves the bed occupancy rate, limits-imposed accommodations, reduces the workload of caregivers, optimizes coding, all while respecting the constraints and obligations related to the RGPD (General Data Protection Regulation).
- In another health register, we find Yoni Solutions, a healthcare company that explores the vaginal microbiome to improve the treatment of vaginal infections and the outcome of IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedures. Using precise technology, Yoni targets the vaginal microbiome at the level of bacterial strains as well as fungi. Their research tools are state-of-the-art. Their main objective is to improve the chances of helping women develop new and effective treatments.
- The Valais start-up, Allimb, is also joining the Lyon adventure. This start-up is developing a user-friendly medical software that results from a need in the clinical field. It detects patients’ movements during physical rehabilitation exercises thanks to the camera of a smartphone or a computer. It corrects and interacts in real time in a fun way, giving objective feedback to doctors and patients. Allimb’s artificial intelligence aims to revolutionize home exercise.
- Finally, Onescope SA, a Swiss start-up from the University Hospitals of Geneva, is developing and marketing a smart stethoscope Pneumoscope for precision, decentralized and impactful medicine. Their primary objective is to respond to the growing demand for decentralized patient care, which the recent Covid-19 pandemic has revealed to be urgent.
