What if artificial intelligence could help blind and visually impaired people to learn? In the French-speaking part of Switzerland, a team of researchers from the Arc School of Management (HEG Arc) in Neuchâtel was able to answer in the affirmative. Conducted in collaboration with the Pedagogical Center for visually impaired students (CPHV), the project “Automatically accessible conversion of school textbooks” was recently awarded the 1st prize for innovation by the Fondation Asile des aveugles.
What’s more ? The Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) has launched a centralised platform to collect genetic sequences of the new coronavirus in Switzerland to ensure better monitoring of variants and boost international research efforts.
