In this edition, we focus on two articles that highlight the progress being made in Switzerland in the production of personalized medical implants and orthopedic devices using 3D printing technology.
In the first article from Heidi.news, we learn about how Spineart, a company based in Geneva, has become a global leader in the production of customized medical implants. To grow in the future, Spineart plans to use 3D printing of titanium, which allows for the creation of lattice structures that promote the colonization of the implant by bone cells, thus facilitating bone fusion.
In the second article from Startupticker.ch, we explore how Leg Airy, a Swiss start-up, is also using 3D printing technology to produce custom-made orthotics.
